Doctors Hospital Nelsonville Will Not Admit New Patients

Posted Date: September 22nd, 2014 | Categories: Health Care & Businesses, Social Security Disability

Doctors Hospital Nelsonville will officially stop admitting patients effective October 15. OhioHealth had announced this summer that inpatient services would cease before the end of this year as the hospital moves toward eventual closing. Hospital officials said the average daily census, which had been on the decline, was about four patients. Other services will continue, including the emergency room, lab, imaging, physical therapy, physician offices and specialists who rotate into the facility. After October 15, the remaining services at the hospital are expected to continue until a new outpatient facility opens in 2016.
