OUR PRACTICE AREAS

Here to help you
move forward.

From Ohio professional license defense and healthcare counsel to Social Security disability applications and appeals, our attorneys provide personal attention at each stage. We also consider other legal matters.

01 / PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE

A license worth
protecting.

When an Ohio licensing board contacts you, what you do next matters. We defend healthcare and other licensed professionals in investigations, consent agreements, disciplinary hearings, and appeals—including matters before the Nursing, Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Cosmetology and Barber, and Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Boards.

Flat-fee representation and payment arrangements may be available for qualifying professional licensing matters. Fees and terms are discussed before engagement.

02 / DISABILITY BENEFITS & APPEALS

Disability benefits.
From start to finish.

Since 2007, we've helped thousands of people obtain Social Security disability benefits. We also handle OPERS, STRS, SERS, and private disability insurance claims. From applications to denials and appeals, we welcome complex matters—including children's SSI and SSI-only cases.

FEATURED SPECIALTY PRACTICE

Research Misconduct & Research Integrity

Jones Law Group represents researchers, faculty members, physicians, scientists, and institutions facing research misconduct allegations, inquiries, investigations, and related federal research-integrity issues. This practice is led by Jeff Steltzer, whose background includes more than two decades working inside university research compliance and integrity systems.

Jeff is a former bench scientist who later built and led research-compliance systems at Emory, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State and advised research institutions through Huron Consulting Group. That background informs high-stakes matters involving data integrity, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, authorship, conflicts, research security, and federal oversight.

ADDITIONAL LEGAL SERVICES

Our focus is clear. Our practice is broader.

Professional license defense, healthcare law, and disability benefits are our principal areas of practice—not the only matters we consider. We also consider matters involving employment disputes, contracts, personal injury, workers' compensation, credentialing, debt collection, and other legal issues. HOW WE WORK

Here's what happens
when you contact us.

It's reasonable to want to know who will review your situation—and what happens next. You'll begin by sharing a few details. Our team can then evaluate whether Jones Law Group is the right fit and discuss a path forward where appropriate.

Meet founder and attorney Eric Jones

A consultation request is not an agreement to hire our firm. Please do not send sensitive records through unsecured email. Filing and appeal deadlines may still apply.

01

Tell us the basics.

Call or send a consultation inquiry with your contact details and a brief description of your concern. You don't need to organize every document first.

02

We evaluate the inquiry.

Our team reviews the type of matter, relevant deadlines, and whether we can offer a consultation or representation. We'll be clear about what comes next.

03

Make an informed decision.

If we agree to work together, we'll discuss the scope of representation, fees, and the next steps appropriate to your case.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few questions.
Clear next steps.

It's normal to have questions before speaking with an attorney. Here are answers to some of the concerns we hear from people considering whether to contact the firm.

Have another question? Contact our office
Do I need to wait for formal licensing-board charges?

No. A board inquiry, investigator contact, or request for records may be reason to seek advice before responding. We represent professionals before the Nursing, Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Counselor/Social Worker/MFT, Cosmetology and Barber, and other Ohio licensing boards. Specific response deadlines depend on the notice and agency.

My Social Security disability claim was denied. Is there still time?

Possibly. Many SSDI and SSI administrative appeals generally must be requested within 60 days after receipt of the notice, with exceptions under applicable rules. Check your notice promptly rather than assuming the deadline has passed or that a new application is your only option.

Can you help if I do not have enough work credits for SSDI?

We consider SSI-only cases and children's SSI claims. SSI does not require Social Security work credits, but applicants must meet the applicable financial and other eligibility requirements. We can review the facts of your claim.

What about OPERS, STRS, SERS, or private disability insurance?

We handle those disability matters as well. Public-retirement systems and private insurance policies have their own eligibility, evidence, and appeal requirements; they are not governed by the same procedures as Social Security disability claims. Explore the disability programs we handle.

What happens after I contact Jones Law Group?

Our team will review the basic information you provide, consider relevant deadlines and potential conflicts, and determine whether we can offer a consultation or representation. We will discuss the scope and fees before agreeing to represent you. Sending an inquiry does not create an attorney-client relationship or stop an appeal deadline.
